Site changes happen, and SHE Media is here to grow with you!
Rebrands (New name, same URL)
If you're rebranding your site (a new name, same URL), the good news is that nothing much will change. You can simply update that in your site profile, and we'll update it in our internal system.
New Platform
If you're changing your platform, then all you'll need to do is look at the Getting Started section for your new platform and follow the instructions for getting setup. You'll need to reinstall our ad code, our ads.txt file. And our support team can absolutely help you with any injections/troubleshooting.
A New URL Entirely
Now, if you're changing your URL, that's a bigger change than you might think. To you, you might think it's just a vanity change. But on the internet, a new URL is a completely new entity. To search engines, to audiences, to ad providers. And to Google, as well.
Because of this, we tie each site profile in the dashboard to a specific URL. So if your URL is changing, we'll need to create a new site profile, and you will have to submit your new site for MCM site approval.
Things to keep in mind
As soon as your URL changes, monetization will stop. It will only begin when your site passes MCM's site approval (which takes on average 3 days).
We will have to submit your site to all our ad providers to be re-evaluated again. And this will result in a drop in revenue - after all, they'll see it as a new site without history.
To get started: reach out to the support desk through the chat window or by emailing support@shemedia.com and we'll be happy to get this started for you.
What will happen?
We'll set up the new ad unit for you in the dashboard, and you'll be able to see it by clicking on the top right where your site name is listed. That'll let you switch between the sites and you'll see the new onboarding checklist to help walk you through it!
The payee and MCM account step will already be complete. You'll want to start with installing your code, setting up your ads.txt - so that we can submit your site for MCM site approval. This takes about 3 days.
Once your site is live, we'll submit your new site to the rest of our ad providers, and we'll close out your old site.
