This guide is intended to help new publishers navigate a site sale (from the buyer's side).
If you are not already in touch with a member of our team - email support@shemedia.zendesk.com to let them know of the effective date of the sale.
The Overview
If you are buying a site, we will create a new user account for you, as well as a new site profile. This is because we need to maintain the tax information for the previous owner, as well as their history with us. We will duplicate your ad placements, settings - but you will need to login to the new profile to supply you payment/tax information.
If you need historic data for the site, you will need to ask the Support Team or your Account Manager (if you were assigned one).
What steps to complete first
1. Account Information - we need this information to create the sellers.json listing for your site.
2. Payment Information - for any step further, we need a vendor ID for your account. If you are located in the US, we pay through ACH. If you are located outside the US, you will need to contact support@shemedia.zendesk.com to work with our team on what the appropriate payment option is for you.
3. MCM Step One - MCM is one of the most important steps to begin. We need this step to be complete so that we can reassign the existing MCM approval. If you have a Google Ad Manager account, it needs to be the email of an administrator associated with it. If you do not, supply the email that you would like to use.
If you have a GAM account, the invitation will show up under Admin >> Multiple Customer Management. You will see a link for PMC (our parent company), and will need to click on it to begin the MCM workflow.
If you do not have a GAM account, the invitation will be emailed. It will come from Google Ad Manager, and it will have a subject line similar to Request to Manage Ad Inventory, and will mention that the request is coming from PMC (our parent company).
Once you have completed the workflow, it can take anywhere for an hour to a week to get your approval.
While you do this, SHE will:
We will copy over the existing settings and mappings for the URL. We will also copy any ad injections set for the previous owners.
When we get the approval, we will work with our engineers to resync the MCM Site approval to your account. As soon as that's completed, the ads will begin to flow.
Final Steps
As soon as MCM is reassigned, the ads will stop working on the site until we can replace it with your header code. Our team will help you with that swap.
Wordpress: Installing and Configuring SHE Media Infuse
Blogger: Installing your Header Code in Blogger
Squarespace: Installing SHE Media ads on Squarespace
For other platforms: in our dashboard, you will go into the Your Ad Code section to find our header code. You will want to place it into your site's template in the <head></head> tags. Most platforms will have a code injection section for your head tags, to do this across your entire site.
You will also want to complete the checklist in our dashboard - especially the ComScore and Demographic Survey portions. ComScore's Traffic Assignment Agreement allows us to include your new site within the PMC umbrella, which helps our sales team bring you more deals. And the Demographic Survey allows us to get a better idea of what opportunities could be available to you. We keep your information private, and if
