We have a number of publishers who are discovering some hiccups in their process to transition to Mediavine or their Journey program.
1. In your last weeks with SHE Media, do not install Mediavine's plugin. It contains their CMP (consent management platform), which is part of their privacy framework. Unfortunately, with recent changes to privacy frameworks - if it's active while our code is active - it can block our ads from working entirely.
So we recommend that you talk to your rep about adding their ads.txt files to ours, rather than using the plugin at that time. You can absolutely go through MCM without their plugin being active.
2. You will not need to disconnect the MCM connection with SHE Media/PMC in order to go through MCM with Mediavine. (You can have multiple MCM connections at once)
The important part of this is that you need to use the exact same Google Ad Manager account and email that you used with us. Do not create new accounts, do not close existing ones. If you aren't sure what you used - just ask our team, and we can get that information for you.
If you close your AdSense, Google Ad Manager accounts - it will not only immediately kill all SHE Media Code on your site, it will mean that nobody will be able to monetize you until you go back through MCM. And Google will have to reevaluate your account and site from scratch, which could take up to 2 weeks.
So if you want the fastest transition, use the exact same information you provided to SHE Media for MCM, and do not disconnect anything.
(Fun fact: the MCM connection is the last thing we disconnect at SHE Media. We will disconnect it 8 weeks after you've left us, just in case there are any unforeseen delays in your transition. Reactivating an ad profile is quick, reconnecting you to MCM is a lot more time consuming)
