As we keep up with the latest needs in our industry, SHE Media has added a new step (as of March 20, 2023) that all publishers will need to complete ASAP. This can have an impact on your revenue, since some of our providers require this step.
On logging in, you will see a new onboarding step in your dashboard asking you to verify account information.
What's changed?
In both sellers.json and ads.txt, we need to provide a company website for each of our publishers. Sellers.json is a network counterpart to ads.txt - where ads.txt lists all the providers that are authorized on your site, sellers.json is for the buyers side. It lets them verify that you are authorized to run their inventory by being listed in our network.
Sellers.json is not new, but there are recent changes that are being required by providers (and some providers will not provide premium inventory without it - so this can affect your revenue).
Namely, that your company URL is needed.
In our sellers.json file, your company website will be listed. But also, in your ads.txt file, your company website will be listed as well.
What do I put?
If you only own one site, that is the URL you should use.
If you have a corporate site, even if it isn’t a domain we’re monetizing, then provide that URL.
If you do not have a corporate site, but own multiple websites, please designate one as your company’s URL.
Do I need to do anything else?
If your ads.txt file is automatically updated (through Infuse, or through redirects like with Squarespace or an A record for self-hosted Blogger sites), you won't need to take action at all.
If you manually update your ads.txt file, once you've updated your account with the company website, you'll need to go to Site and Ads >> Ads.txt and re-download your ads.txt file and update it on your site. (Reminder: all manually updated sites should be updating their ads.txt file at a minimum of twice a month)
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out to our support desk team at support@shemedia.com
