Welcome to SHE Media! We're happy that you've joined us, and know that sometimes knowing what to do and when to do it can be a little overwhelming. So we created this guide to help explain the process! And give you the steps in the order to speed up the process as much as possible.
Logging in
First things first, you'll want to login at https://my.shemedia.com - if for any reason, you don't have a password, you can use the forget password link to create a password, or reach out to the Support team (support@shemedia.zendesk.com) and have them create a temporary password for you.
Sign Your Agreement
If you've been talking with a representative from SHE, you'll likely get a contract sent to you directly that you'll sign digitally. If you came through our application, then you'll have a contract that will pop up in the dashboard for you to review and check a box to sign. Either way, you'll have a copy to save. If you'd like a plain language version, then review our Member Guide (this will open in a new tab).
You have to complete this step before you'll be able to save anything in the dashboard.
Payment Information
Every publisher in the Collective needs to create a Vendor profile. It consists of a digital form of either a W-9 or W-8, as well as your payment information.
Publishers based in the US will need to provide their ACH information, which will be stored securely. Publishers based outside of the US will need to reach out to the support desk (support@shemedia.zendesk.com) in order to provide us with a PayPal account, or discuss whether or not there are any other options for you.

MCM Step One
This is the next step that we recommend, because both MCM steps are required before your ads can fill. MCM is a Google process designed to help weed out fraud. In order to work with SHE Media, you must be in good standing with Google- no exceptions.
In the first step, Google will be connecting you to SHE Media at an account level. If you click on the link next to it - you'll be taken to a form! All we need is an email address. But most importantly - it should be the email address that you've used with Google for things like Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager.
DO NOT create a new account if you already have an AdSense or Ad Manager account. Google will only let you have one AdSense account.
DO NOT create an AdSense account if you don't have one. MCM will create any accounts you need, without any of the wait times you'd have if you started from scratch!
The Invitation
Once you've given us your email - we sent it to Google to create an invitation.
IF YOU HAVE AN AD MANAGER ACCOUNT, you'll want to login at https://admanager.google.com with your email, and go to Admin >> Multiple Customer Management and look for an entry that says PMC. PMC is our parent company, and if you click on it, it will open the invite.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN AD MANAGER ACCOUNT, go to your inbox and look for an email from Google Ad Manager that reads Request to Manage Ad Inventory. It'll mention PMC (our parent company), but that's the invitation. Click on the link in it.
Once Google is evaluating your account, it should take anywhere from 1-3, even up to 14 days.
Note: Google is going to send you a LOT of emails once you're approved. Disregard them until you've completed your checklist. They send you all the welcome emails as though you're setting up your own Ad Network account, so it will not apply to you.
If anything goes wrong
If you get an error during the process, try it again and take a screenshot of the point where you got the error, and then the error itself. Open an ticket with support@shemedia.zendesk.com and our team will work with Google to get this fixed.

Install SHE Media Infuse
While this isn't its own step in the checklist - this is the next thing you'll want to do to get ready. SHE Media has our own Wordpress plugin, which can insert our header code and manage your ads.txt file for you - making getting set as easy as possible.

Verify Account Information
This is a quick check to make sure that we have all the information we need. Double check your email address (of note, if you change the email address here, that changes the email you login with as well). And we also ask you to provide us with your company website.
If you have a company website, use that. If you do not have a company website, but own multiple sites, pick one as your company website (even if it isn't being monetized with us). If you do not have a company website, and only have one website - put that in the form.
Verify Site Information
Make sure that we have the correct information on file. If you say, just changed your URL after we approved you - contact our support team immediately so that we can update this before you go through the MCM process. If you rebrand or decide to go with a different site AFTER you've gone through MCM, this will further delay getting ads up on your site - we'll have to create a new site profile and start over.
Verify your Ads.txt file
Ads.txt is a protocol designed to identify the advertisers that you allow on your site. It's required for monetizing with any network, and the reason we want you to get this installed and verified first is because Google uses that ads.txt file to identify your relationship with SHE Media. As soon as you've verified your ads.txt file, it will automatically submit your site for MCM Step Two as soon as you've been approved for MCM at the account level.
MCM Step Two
You will not need to click anything for this step to start. Google will take a look at your site and decide if they think it should be monetized. This review goes through a pass with their algorithm as well as a review by a human. If your site is NOT approved, do not worry. Our team will work with you to get your site approved. We carefully vet our sites before approving them, but Google's standards can be a little different than our own.
I didn't pass MCM Step Two - now what?
Ad Size Selection
In this section, you'll see that we've checked the most common ads that publishers will want. Note: these checkboxes do not install these ads on your site. They create ad tags that you could install.
If you are unsure of what to do, don't worry - as part of the onboarding process, our team will automatically inject your site with ads, requiring no work from you.
If you're happy with SHE Media managing your ads, check the True User Value box - and if you want SHE Media to optimize your site, we'll go in and make small adjustments and opt you into new products.
Opt-Out Selection
These opt outs are for our direct sold campaigns. SHE Media has two types of advertising. Direct sold, which are advertisers that SHE Media has booked in campaigns, and programmatic.
SHE Media does pride itself on blocking unsuitable ads from every showing on your site. But if you ever have any concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to support@shemedia.zendesk.com
Configure Ads
This check is to ensure that you've installed your ads correctly. This verification check will look at your homepage to see if you've installed an ad tag.
We recommend placing a SHE Media widget ad in your footer for this step. Go to Widgets, find your footer section and search for a widget type called SHE Media Ads. Pick tinybanner 300x50 from the menu, and that will install the ad! That's all you'll need to pass the check - and once it's verified, you can remove the widget.
(Note, once you've completed this step and MCM Part Two, you're placed in a queue for the SHE Media team to inject your site with our standard layout. If you have any preferences, don't hesitate to reach out to our team to let us know before we make those injections! We'll put them in our system)

Regulatory Compliance
Data privacy laws are important to be aware of. From GDPR to various states in the US, more and more regions are creating laws about what you need to be compliant.
Privacy Policy
Every site needs a privacy policy. SHE Media does not have a template, but we do recommend that you include a section that mentions that your advertising is provided by SHE Media, a subsidiare of Penske Media Corporation (PMC). And that if anyone wishes to know more about how PMC handles personal data, to refer to their Ads Services Privacy Policy.
Privacy Laws
SHE Media provides all Collective members with Google's CMP. This covers all the privacy needs of our ad code - and will protect you for GDPR and US Based privacy laws.
If you need more coverage (like getting consent from other scripts you have on your site), you will need to find your own compliant consent management platform.
You would need to look for a CMP that can pass GPP (global privacy protection) or GPC tags. This is the standard that will be replacing the TCF v2.2 standard (which only covers GDPR).
Most free CMPs will not manage this - but Google's CMP is still free, and you can configure this for yourself.
If you have your own CMP, you would check the box to opt out and pick your CMP from the drop down list. If your CMP is not listed, and it's fully GPP compliant, you would need to ask your CMP if they can register it with the IAB.
Comscore
Comscore is a third party company that monitors web traffic. (It's like Nielsen rankings, but for the web). As part of the Collective, we ask you to assign your traffic to our network, so that we can include your site. All this does is allow us to use your site for sales pitches and ranking. We don't claim ownership, just acknowledge that you're part of our network.
In the comscore step, you'll be asked to click one button, which copies our access code to your device. Then, click the link for step two. That will take you to ComScore's site, where you'll be prompted for the access code! Paste it in the field, and fill out the form.
When you fill out the form, please make sure that the information you provide matches what's in the dashboard. For name, put your full name! And please feel free to use the notes field when you submit it to leave our team a note. (It's useful if say, you opened the account, but it's your boss's name on the form)
Why doesn't my ComScore Step Show as Completed?
Demographic Survey
Last, we have a demographic survey for some of our additional programs. This is completely optional, but it can help when it comes to brands coming to the network, wondering if we have any publishers with a particular life experience. The information collected in the survey stays within the network - if we think you might be a good fit based on the program, we'll reach out to ask you if you're interested. And only when you say yes, will we then go back to the brand that was asking with your name. We believe firmly in making sure you know where your information goes.
